Guys. I have a D21 with VG30E engine in it, its a bit tired with 480 000 K's on it and a mate has given me a VG30 Maxima engine. Has anyone used a Maxima in a D21 Nav and what problems did you have fitting it. All help appreciated, thanks. Hi! Guys.

Dealer wants to charge £11,000 for a replacement engine. SO I was looking around for a refurb. The people I spoke too are saying all these engines have a design fault that NIssan has not bother to do anything about. The engines will do between 55,000 and 75,000 before they blow a con rod. Advice was fit a refurb and then sell it. Same engine is in the new versions that aremade in Spain. Good business for Nissan if everyone needs to go back and get a new engine! funny, just had the same problem myself on a 2004 model, done 62,000km. Comment on D40 fuel consumption by Pete http://www.nissannavara.info/nissan-navara-d40/d40-fuel-consumption-24/#comment-792 Pete Sat, 05 Jul 2008 19:48:13 +0000 http://www.nissannavara.info/nissan-navara-d40/d40-fuel-consumption-24/#comment-792 Hi. I have an '06 plate D40. I bought it new, and at first, MPG was poor. But after a few thousand miles (I don't know exactly when, sorry) it was returning over 30MPG. It steadily improved, and now is ALWAYS over 32MPG. I run it for work (mainly) and always get receipts for fuel and always check the economy. It has been been 36.4 after a 400+ mile round trip to Norfolk (no proper motorways on this journey). It's the 6 speed manual. I don't drive it crazily, but at the same time, I'm not dilly dallying. I have a Top Dawg Tonneau cover (the best, most practical and economical for me at the time). It's done 30,000 miles now and is still fine. I've spoken to others who seem very surprised. I don't know why mine seems so good compared to others. I'm pleased with my truck, and sorry I can't offer any good advice on economy. Hi.

New March 07 Now has 39,000 miles. Serviced at 36,800. Reported knocking noise but nothing found, however they say it needs to come in for major oil leak, (Monday) ive checked vehicle, drive, office parking space, no sign of any leaks, checked since but nothing. However has a tendancy to start knocking - it lasts for 5-10 miles then stops. Done it 6-8 times since new. Dont believe there is an oil leak, could it be another 3rd piston trying to get out. Sounds like cold start has been sprayed into air intake like on old transits or its trying to compress liquids. Any ideas or similar diagnosis. Navara, 07 plate. New March 07
